    In addition to email design, structure the database into smaller segments with similar characteristics so that you can monitor the response for different segment is also key to effective email marketing.

    Kudos on a nicely compiled list!

    The only thing I would shed another perspective on is #9. Specifically, some anti-spam systems penalize senders of email who use many links. Can't recall hat the ratio was but I once found that a signture of 6 URL's triggered SPAM qualification.
