    Thanks for the helpful tips.

In addition to the references you made about collecting email addresses and Google Analytics, may I suggest you consider using Google Alerts to monitor mentions of your company, its comptitors, products etc to develop a media contact list/company media coverage profile.

    Can't hurt,

Oh Damn! Another to-do list for the New Year ;-) Good stuff. Particularly #1. Whether you use Google's calendar, outlook or a pad of paper I've found it's really important to keep an editorial calendar. Not only does it help keep you on schedule but it's invaluable in keeping you on target, topic-wise. The reason that the top blogs, ezines, etc. get to the top is because they're focused. A calendar can help you plan what to write on and when and keep your communications balanced across your area(s) of expertise...

Thanks for a really useful post with both timely reminders and also some ideas I hadn't thought of before.

On point 2, I use Blogger and found it easy to set up and use as a complete novice!

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Great article, I will be tuning in more often. There are several things that you listed that will be of benefit to my business. Thanks!

Best post yet (for us). A couple good points. We're usually doing most everything and then some of what you usually type and skim through the email. This time there were things to consider. Thanks

I actually bought into a joint ad recently and was most likely going to bail if the ad did not work for me. But after reading your blog post, I think I will keep advertising at this one location 4 more times to see what kind of traffic I get, instead of advertising in a ton of different places sporadically.

    Thanks!
