So I went to NY to the Stevie Awards for Women in Business gala since we were nominated for four. Not sure but something inside said, “Janine, you’ve got a better chance if you are there.” Probably not true since the woman from Kuwait didn’t make it either and she won.
Here’s the scene: think big ballroom, lots of amazing women, many with their husbands and partners. Shout out to our VR partner Letty the CEO from iPrint, she was also nominated in the group. The gig was hosted by Randy Kaye, anchor for CNN, and Carolyn Kepcher. Yes, Carolyn from the Apprentice. Great show when she was on it!
My date was not my husband because he had to stay home with Stan who is recovering. So I took Robert Digioia, VP Sales DM News. Love that guy. We sat at our table which was #13. Not a good sign I thought, lucky #13? Turns out it was the most fun table in the house. So the first three awards that we’re nominated for blow by. Bummer. Robert says “Blog, it’s you, I know it”. Carolyn calls it… “Best Blog (long pause) VerticalResponse!” The table went wild. Carolyn gave me the award.
I was pretty excited because of two things: blogs are being recognized as “award-worthy” and judges think the VerticalResponse blog is worthy. And thank god, for table #13.
