There’s nothing better than the summer months to highlight your product or service. Now more than ever people want a break from the day-to-day grind of their jobs or school. Do you have a product or service that lends itself to summer? I picked a couple below that I've recently seen to get your creative juices flowing.
- Summer Wear– Do you sell or make jewelry that looks best with this summer’s hot beachwear? How about sell the beachwear itself? Highlight it by calling out a popular star or magazine featuring the look. Then highlight it in your email marketing campaigns.
- Realty – Do you still have summer/vacation properties you need to sell or rent? Email your past customers with a “Don’t miss out on summer” message with a discount for the “late bird special” since it is so close to the first of summer.
- Hotel/Resort – Partner up with neighboring restaurants, stores or places of interest to devise a “getaway” package to encourage traffic. Then all of the participating businesses can send emails to their respective customer lists highlighting the discounts. The benefit? Your customers who want a quick getaway don’t have to think about where to stay or what to do and you and your neighboring businesses collectively drive more traffic … everyone benefits!
- Restaurant/Bar – Are you in an area where it’s heavy up on business but deserted on the weekends? Why not email special discounts to businesses in your area for special luncheons, brunches or happy hours on the weekends – the employees will get to know you and not only return with their friends and families but perhaps pass your name along.
- Business Trade Show/Seminar – Are you sponsoring a tradeshow in the height of summer? When you send your email invitations why not include discounts at theme parks, hotels and restaurants for your attendees so they make a family trip out of it. You’ll be surprised at how many people will come, especially since their company will pay for the room and some part of the food.
Here are just a few thoughts on how to make the most of the summer. Got any ideas of your own? Bring 'em on!

I have been looking for sites like this for a long time. Thank you!

I also love the idea of marketing in Summer with either Summer Sales or Summer Offers. Can anyone give his/ her thought on marketing consumer electronics in Summer i.e. HD DVD Players or Network DVD Players or video capturing cards. I am just wondering how we can relate Summer season with our consumer electronica product sales.

I find summer to be a time for more serious seekers. The Net offers some great ways to supplement incomes, especially for teachers that are off for the summer, and college students. Once they try it and find some successes, they maintain it. Summer is a great time to do business on line!

I like the idea of marketing for Summer! I sell Mia Bella Gourmet Candles. How about "Selling Candles at Farmers Markets!" or "Light Up Your Summer Fun!" for marketing gourmet candles in Summer.
